ALFYA ATELIER
It was in the 1970s when Alfya, a mother of two, began tailoring clothes and selling them to make ends meet. Alfya’s granddaughter, Rabia, grew up watching her grandmother sew and developed an interest in sewing even when she specialised in Sciences.
In 2017, Alfya’s two daughters and granddaughter left their jobs in a totally different industry to start an all-women business - Alfya Atelier. In hopes to spread the joy of sewing, we started a sewing academy and offer tailoring and alteration services, which aims to provide fun, enjoyable and affordable classes for people of all ages, gender and walks of life who are passionate in fashion and designing their own creations.
Alfya Atelier is familiar with the digital space as they have embraced a wide array of digital solutions, from e-payment, such as Paynow and Favepay, to inward digital solutions such as Xero for their accounting matters.
During the circuit breaker, Alfya Atelier sought newer business opportunities such as promoting custom-made face masks on their website and social media platforms, despite the temporary stoppage of traditional sewing classes, tailoring and alteration services.
